At this point, the most effective and affordable thing the campaign can do is encourage supporters to send email notes to friends, families and neighbors who live in Independence.

Here’s a sample email message you can use or feel free to use your own.

The main point is to encourage people to vote on Feb. 3rd, 2026 for the Primary and April 7th, 2026 for the General Election and to vote for Bridget.

SAMPLE MESSAGE (Copy, paste and send to friends)

“Our current mayor is not seeking another term. Bridget McCandless has decided to throw her hat in the ring, and I think she would be an exceptional pick for the job.

You may know Bridget as a physician who ran a free health clinic. You might know her from her civic engagement. Or, you might know her from her last three years on the city council, where she has shown to be exceptionally qualified, able to work with others, and does her homework.

She has already given much to our community through her personal involvement in health care, the Truman Library and other community efforts. On the council, she has moved the city forward, but there’s still more to do. Because of all of this experience, I think Bridget is the one to lead Independence into the next generation.”
