What people have to say about Bridget

  • There is plenty to improve

Doc Bridget stumped to my door today, thankfully, this special election was getting past me. Her answers and the handout content describe an apolitical agenda to make Independence a better place to live... there's plenty to improve. Intelligent and successful women climb a very steep hill to see their dream become real, the very experience and voice needed on our council right now. Proud to vote McCandless for City Council!

  • There is a first time

"I see you are running for office and my mom told me you were looking for places for yard signs. I was so shocked that my mom reached out I forgot to respond to her. She has been anti politics as long as I’ve known her. In fact my best friend who I’ve known since we were 14 ran for something back in the mid-90s and she wouldn’t let him put up a yard sign. So that should be on one of your campaign flyers that you’ve got lifelong anti-yard sign people to change their ways is a good indication that you can do anything.”

  • So Happy

I am so happy for Independence that you are running for City Council. You will be a member who will represent all that is fair and right for its people. I remember our Price Chopper days when we first met. You were an inspiration to me then and you continue to do so now. Wishing you the best in your run for City Council.

  • A Heart for People

I remember (Bridget) from work association years ago when she was a young physician, and what impressed me then was her heart for people. She has done so much since then to create and provide healthcare access for all citizens. I believe her wealth of experience, along with her personal character, makes her the best candidate for Independence City Council.

  • Bridget knows the difference

“Bridget knows the difference between right and wrong. She has demonstrated throughout her career that she has the courage to do what is right and the courage to AVOID doing what is wrong! Your leadership will make a significant contribution to the City.”

    — Ron Bruch

  • Lucky to have Bridget

"Independence would be lucky to have Bridget McCandless on its City Council. I know from her time leading the Shared Care Free Health Clinic in Independence (I was on the Board) how much of herself she gives to things she is passionate about. I am 100% sure she would be actively engaged, would do her homework, and would always keep what's best for the people of Independence in mind above all else.”

  • Kind, generous and compassionate ...

Vote for Bridget. Honest, smart, hardworking and forward thinking. She will be a great leader who represents us in Independence. Oh yes, I failed to mention that she is kind, generous and compassionate along with her other qualities.

    — Laurie Anne May-Gremillion

  • Bridget will be an asset to our city

I know Bridget will be an asset to our city and I am totally supporting her, as well as my family! We were so excited to see that Bridget McCandless was running for city council in Independence.

    — Mary Hughes

  • Always Did What Was Right

I had the opportunity to work with Dr. McCandless at Independence Regional Health Center many years ago. Independence would greatly benefit from Dr. McCandless' ethical, top down leadership style.

As a physician she was faced with many ethical challenges. She always did what was right and was a great leader and example of stewardship.

Her ethical background and leadership will also help ensure that gross unaccountably of city funds, such as recent events with IPD, are eliminated, corrected, and answered for.

Independence needs this kind of leader.
